Restylane and Perlane are safe, long lasting crystal clear gels, part of a group collectively known as 'dermal fillers'. They contain hyaluronic acid, a substance that occurs naturally in the body. Hyaluronic acid attracts and binds water, hydrating and giving volume to the skin. Fillers can dramatically smooth wrinkles and deep folds, restore natural volume and enhance facial contours.
The most common areas to be treated are the nasolabial folds (smile lines), the corners of the mouth and the area around the lips. They can also be used for lip augmentation, fo fuller cheeks and to soften scars.
